Friends of Gillingham (Norfolk) Countryside are in the process of asking the courts to permit them to take them to Judicial Review in respect of the planning permission given in respect of the expansion of Gillingham Services. See poster here.

Following a resignation we have one vacancy for a parish councillor. If you are interested in joining the council, or would like to find out more, please contact the parish clerk.

The District Council have published a formal Vacancy Notice.

Geldeston is a rural community in south Norfolk on the north bank of the river Waveney between Beccles and Bungay.

The next meeting will be on Wednesday 14 January at 7.30pm in the Village Hall. Members of the public are welcome to attend.

What the Parish Council does

The Parish Council is responsible for:

the recreation ground
the play area
the allotments
commenting on planning applications
the village notice board
the village sign
general maintenance around the village

Services provided by Norfolk County Council or South Norfolk District Council

A lot of problems reported to the Parish Council are the responsibility of other Authorities. These can be either Norfolk County Council or South Norfolk District Council. Residents can use the following links to report matters themselves:
